final post

Hi everybody!
Firstly I have to say this week is kind of crazy and a little bit stressing, because we have a lot of exams and worksheets. But we have to make our last effort and do our best, so well luck to everybody and work hard.
I liked to work on the blog, I’ve never blogged a before, and I think it was sort of great read the commentaries from my classmates and be a little bit pro active to upload our tasks.
Of course, it made me improve my written English and increase my vocabulary, because so many times I had to seek out for the words that I thought were the appropriates to express what I wanted to say. In addition, I think it was well used by the teacher and we could profit from the different news, articles, videos, conferences, etc.
I think this activity, was so beneficial for us and I don no think there were deficiencies or disadvantages. At least for me was pleasant to be here, the tasks were interesting and make me write a lot.
Probably, I shall use the blog with my students because is a good mechanism to make the write and be constantly reviewing what they have been doing, and obviously check the whole process and how they have been getting better.

Finally about myself, I think this semester has been really fruitful and helpful, I feel that I have improved all my skills in every area, but I think I have to do more and practice more. I am absolutely conscious that I am responsible for my learning, and I have to do my best. Maybe I have to use more vocabulary from the book, because it seems the more important issue in the oral exams, instead of the improvement of the communicative skills and the development that I reach through the semester. Although I got no good marks, I am happy because I got better and I liked many of the topics that we review.

Berlin marks 20 years since the fall of the wall

The November 9th was remembered yesterday with a big ceremony were the wall of Berlin supposed to be 20 years ago. The event called the attention of many important figures from many areas, politics, arts, etc.
The first chancellor Angela Merker retraced the first step doing as well thousand of Germans did 20 years ago.
In the ceremony was Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union, who was applauded because of his crucial role in the end of the cold war.
Many artists performed operas and songs as a tribute to this human act which finalized the civil war in Germany.




Degree required, but you don’t have one

In many job’s interviews, the interviewer used to ask to the applier if he/she has a degree? This issue is really important, because, how many cases there are people who studied at college but for different problems and intervenes they have not finished the career.
Katy Piotrowski, a career counselor based in Fort Collins, Col., author of the Career Books, said that is really important for the appliers always says that they have studied at college and had the skills to apply for the job, in addition to that they have to be completely confident about her/his skills, this shall show to the interviewer that this person is qualified to occupy the post.
Who wants to get the degree, Jacqueline E. King, assistant vice president for policy analysis at the American Council on Education, remarks that there are many facilities and opportunities to do it, because the college plans are more flexible now and there are many schedules and different ways to assist to classes, for example, online classes.

It is important finish your career if you have the possibility and the time, because it’s going to help you in future interviews and to apply for high posts in almost most companies, supported Mrs. King.




Coke warned but given zero penalty for sms spam campaign

Coke Company was warned about the sms campaign. These not required messages reach the number of 100.000 and caused the nuisance of many cell phone users in Australia. But coke south pacific just received a warning instead of fact other three companies had to pay thousands of dollars as a penalty for this criminal act.
The authorities said, there is no explanation about how the company got the cell phone’s numbers, but those may have been obtained through information on mail accounts.
The company was advertised, if a situation like that repeats again, coke co. shall have to pay a fine.

Hey! hi everybody...
this comment is about the population activity that we did in class. first of all, for me is really interesting this topic, I like to talk about population, cultures, countries, geography, etc.
I have enjoyed so much this unit because I loved history classes at school, and this remain me those days.
Morever, the website we used was so interesting because it has a lot of information about almost many interesting topics, in addition to that it has an actualized number of the population around the world.
finally, I have to say that I love this activities here at the computer lab with Beatriz.

My favorite website is wordreference. Com. It is really useful and beneficial whether you want to learn new words and use in your written essays. This website has thousands and thousands of words, moreover has a blog where a lot of people who are learning English, discuss about the use or the manner that words are used in the native language.
This website increases your knowledge and gave you many ways to say the same idea in a polite way.
You should use it in the classes in the computer’s lab when we come with Beatriz or Andrea, it might be so fruitful, practical, convenient, handy, etc. xD did you see it?

So whether you have a really big doubt, look for the divine help of wordreference, it probably shall give you the solution to it. Shall we? xD

Honey, her dreams. her terms.

There are many really good Films that I love. It is really difficult choose just one, because for example I like science fiction films, over all the ones which are about superheroes like Spiderman, x-men, Elektra, fantastic 4, etc. in addition to that, I really like the whole saga of Harry Potter and Star wars. I think my likes are sort of infantile, but I don’t care about, I’ve always have a good time when I watch them.

However, my favorite film is “Honey”. This film is starring by Jessica Alba; she is a really good actress in addition to be so gorgeous and talented. In this film she is Honey, a young girl who lives in Bronx, she loves dance and she decides to be a choreographer in the centre where her mother works helping children to avoid the delinquency and drugs traffic.
When she starts to work there, she knows a little boy and his brother who is taking bad decision about his future and the things that he wants to do. She really adores them, and tries to help them through dancing in her group to keep far from the bad companies and fake friends.

The movie also shows that whether you make an effort and work hard, everything’s going to work out, and every problem has a solution if you are an arduous seeker.

Finally, I like this movie also because there appear a lot of my favorite singers like Missy Elliot, Tweet, Tamia, G-unit and Blaque. The soundtracks and choreographies are pretty cool and so catchy.

Ken Robinson's presentation at TED

Hello everybody! :D
Wow! What can I say... this presentation was super, because Sir Ken focused on many interesting issues of contemporary Education, and I agreed with all of them.

first of all, he talked about the extraordinary evidence of the human creativity, every single person has talent, and has abilities that educational system doesn't develop on the students, why it is focused in one general knowledge which is not personalized, it not even make you grow as a person.

Secondly, we need to prepare to be wrong. We as a people are afraid of make a mistake, we must face the fear of being wrong to be successful in life. We have to realized that nobody's perfect and stop to stigmatize the mistakes.

Thirdly, education is shaped as a programm to develop just the "useful aspects" in job's life. Contemporary education has the idea of the body as a transport of the hands. We as teachers are producing an industrialized knowledge, that just is focused on usefulness of the things and most important yet, the people as a tool who don't even think.

Finally, what we have to do? RE-THINK. We have to think over about the structure of the academics programs. We should make up a new point of view of intelligence as a multiple concept that contents a dynamic part, creative and an interactive one.
He proposed a new mean of human ecology which consists in re-think about the intelligence and human's capacities and teach to students how to face the future.

UAH, one of my favorite places

I chose this college because it's fantastic. My university has a lot of benefits, for example, it's in the center of the city, for me is important because I live so far from Santiago. Moreover, it has good reputation, and it's one of the best humanistic universities here.
Well, choose a carrier was pretty difficult to me. I ever wanted to study something related with social causes and help to other people. When I was in the last year at school. i decided to study pedagogy but I didn't was sure about the speciality. In agreement with my capacities and likes, I chose English at the end.
As I was saying, I think a teacher is one of the most important social roles. We need teachers to learn how we can be persons and to show us the world. Every person need to learn about his/her world. We, as teachers, have the possibility to do that, to be a role model of our society, to integrate the new citizens and encourage them to do all those best. I really love my major, and I don't change it for another thing ever.
Of course, in every job there are bad professional and good ones, I want to be a good one. I think, to be a good teacher is necessary be a leader, enthusiastic and respectful to each others. We have to be patient, because we are going to work with children and teenagers... and that's a big challenge. I good teacher have to be responsible, that's so difficult for me. I am so immature but, I think that I'm growing up in this moment... I hope so. xD
Finally, I want to say that I really like my classes. I loved some subjects like psychology and math, among other things. For example, my psychology teacher was really great, she is so fantastic and I want to be like her. in the other hand, math was always one of my favorite subjects at school, I really enjoy over think about the math problems, it's a good exercise and pretty fun.

I think the website is a excellent tool to learn english. I really liked, because there are a lot of activities to develop different areas and improve our skills.

I recomend you, guys, the part about phonetic's skills. It was super fantastic, you could review different sounds, compare them, and then you could practice.

I could find there the shwa, the phonema we were talkin' on the assistanceship.

anyway, as I was saying the website is really great and we coul get a lot of new words and add them to our vocabulary through practicing.

In the other han, we have to take advantage of the Tools and materials we have. As a student, many times we put language aside, if we want to improve, we have to make an effort.

Take all the chances and get the more Benedit for them.
